Mountain bike trails in and around Avoriaz.

Avoriaz is a truly bike in bike out resort in the summer as it's car free. Part of the massive 650km of the Portes du Soleil area, there are lots of dedicated down hill trails that Avoriaz can call its own and a pump track in the centre of resort.

You can directly access the pistes down into Les Lindarets from the Tour chairlift in Avoriaz. On the Avoriaz side of Les Lindarets, there are blue (Bleu de Brochaux), red (Dans le Foret) and black (Coupe de France) tracks. The blue is great for beginners and doesn't have much technical difficulty to it, just banked corners. The red is a step-up from that, with jumps and drops, roots and rocks. The black is again harder and was used for a round of the French National series back in 2007. It's a tough track, only for experienced riders. These tracks can also be accessed via the Lindarets Express chairlift.

On the Chatel side of the valley, try the blue track (Chesery) that takes you part way down which then joins into the winter piste. This can be accessed from Chatel or from the Chaux Fleurie chairlift. You can also get the Mossettes lift up to go and explore on the Swiss side (Les Crosets, Champery, Morgins), or take a track that brings you back into Les Lindarets via the winter piste. This is a fantastic open, rocky "fire road" style track and can take at least 15 minutes to descend.

You can follow the PDS route from Lindarets, past the lake and down to Montriond. From there you can follow the river back to Morzine.

There is a pump-track by the "Rustine" bike school at the top of Avoriaz and also a wooden pump-track in the middle of town. From the bottom of Avoriaz, you can take the winter piste Le Crot (also known as the "gravalanche" to locals), down to Prodains. From here you can get the 3S lift back to Avoriaz or take the road back to Morzine.

There is a trail that takes bikers from the top of Super Morzine down in to Lindarets, again part of the PDS route. In 2014, a new green trail was built (Les Alpages) to take people from the "Col de la Joux Vert" back along to Super Morzine without having to use the road.

On Super Morzine there are blue trails (Tutti Frutti, Cap Canaveral), red (DA Trail), black (Hattock, Racine Carre) and a "fire road" trail (L'Ele) that takes you back down to Montriond/Morzine. The blue trails are full of jumps and berms and are great for beginners and advanced riders alike. The red trail has less jumps than the blues, but more roots and is tighter and more technical. The black trails are full of roots, with Hattock having some very technical sections and large gap jumps.

The tracks on Super Morzine can be accessed by the Super Morzine telecabine and Zore chairlift, or from Avoriaz via the new green track.

The team at Avoriaz MTB have done a great job to sign post all the tracks, as well as sign posting how to get to and from the other resorts via Avoriaz. They are constantly maintaining/improving the tracks with a staff of six shapers including two piste security staff that are on hand to help if any accidents happen.
