Morzine snow report and forecast

Discover the latest Morzine snow conditions

Author Caro Blackwell, Destination Editor Updated

So that’s it for this winter in Morzine. It’s been a strange season, after an early snow dump and optimistic signs of a good winter ahead, we suffered a real lack of snow at Christmas and New Year. Then the first two weeks of January we welcomed plenty of snow which boosted our slopes and gave us good sunny powder ski days.  However temperatures were milder than normal meaning our lower slopes suffered early, but the skiing at higher altitude remained really good. We’ve enjoyed good skiing in March with a mixture of powder and sunshine days. The piste groomers have done the most fantastic job this winter keeping our pistes skiable in the face of unpredictable and challenging weather conditions. We’ll be back next winter with our weekly snow reports, until then, enjoy a break before summer in Morzine opens up.

For the last few ski days of the season, hopefully you can enjoy good skiing as we have warm and sunny days coming up, so book the sunny terrasse for a long lunch to celebrate the end of the season in style!
Sunday is the last day of the season in Morzine, but you can ski over in Les Gets until the 14th and up in Avoriaz for higher altitude skiing until the 21st April.

Top tips for skiing this week

As you've still got a few days skiing in Morzine here are our top tips:

  • The temperature is changeable in the mountains, we’re properly spring skiing now, but it may be chilly out of the sun. So thinner layers, a shell jacket rather than a thick winter coat, more lightweight gloves are a good idea, and open those vents as the day warms up!
  • Don't forget the sunscreen! Even when the windchill is high, the sun in the mountains is still intense.
  • You’ll need your goggle lenses for sun this week
  • Early morning the pistes are harder packed and maybe a bit icy and then a bit slushy in the afternoon. So coordinate your ski time to whichever conditions you prefer.
  • Get your skis and boards waxed as the wetter snow can slow you down a bit!
  • Book the sunny restaurant terrace for long relaxed lunch
